An official men’s collegiate regulation basketball court, as used in the NCAA, follows these standard measurements:

Key Court Markings and Measurements

• Court Dimensions: 50’ x 94’ 

• Rim height: 10 feet from the playing surface to the rim 

• Backboard size: 72 inches wide by 42 inches tall 

• Backboard location: 4’ from the baseline 

• Free-throw line: 19 feet from the baseline 

• Free-throw circle radius: 6 feet 

• Free-throw lane (the key): 12 feet wide 

• Center circle radius: 6 feet 

• Three-point line distance: 22’ 1 ¾”  

• Restricted Area: 4’ from the center of the rim 

• Line thickness: 2”

What is the difference between NBA and college basketball courts?

The major difference between official collegiate courts and professional courts is the 3-point line distance.  The 3-point line is only 19’ 9” in high school and extends to 20’ 9” for collegiate women and 22’ 1 ¾" for an official collegiate men’s basketball court.
